HIV prevention and care services for MARPS.

In the year 2005, the program received a grant from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to scale up activities of HIV/AIDs prevention, care and treatment services. The activities carried out through the Sex Workers Outreach Programme (SWOP) primarily involved mobilizing Nairobi based male and female sex workers, their family members and friends through peer led networks. The goal is to reduce the number of new HIV infections within this population and the people they get into contact with.
