Join the University of Manitoba on World AIDS Day for a scientific update on HIV and emerging viral infections, with reflections on Dr. Francis Plummer’s contributions to science.

Dr. Plummer (1952 – 2020) was a world-renowned scientist, academic, and HIV/AIDS researcher, best known for a collaboration in which he unraveled the mystery surrounding a group of women in Kenya who possessed natural immunity to HIV-1. Dr. Plummer passed away in Nairobi, Kenya, where he took part in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the ground-breaking Manitoba/Kenya research. All are welcome to attend.
